YELLOW JACKET® "Hassle-Free" Warranty

YELLOW JACKET products are "Engineered to be the Best." Ritchie Engineering Company warranties YELLOW JACKET products to be free of defects in materials and workmanship as specified below. Different warranty procedures cover different product groups, so please read carefully.

All returns MUST have either:

1. An RGA issued by the factory/customer service, or;
2. An "Over-the-Counter (OTC) Warranty" form issued and signed by a YELLOW JACKET representative.
   

LIMITED OTC POLICY

Recovery

• All YELLOW JACKET Recovery Machines have a one year (from date of purchase by the contractor) parts and labor "Hassle-Free" warranty. The 9576x series has a three year compressor warranty.
• An OTC exchange is available by calling Ritchie Engineering customer service at (800)769-8370 with an explanation of failure. If an OTC is approved, an RGA will be issued for the return of the machine. A credit will be issued upon return and inspection by the YELLOW JACKET Warranty Department.
• A copy of the original invoice is required as proof of purchase.
• Warranty Exceptions
• If the machine has been altered
• If damaged by misuse or abuse
• Physical damage is evident
• If machine has been used with any "leak-stop type" product
  

Vacuum Pumps

• All YELLOW JACKET USA manufactured vacuum pumps (SuperEvac™ and Bullet™) have a two year (from date of purchase by the contractor) parts and labor "Hassle-Free" warranty.
• An OTC exchange is available by calling Ritchie Engineering customer service at (800)769-8370 with an explanation of failure. If an OTC is approved, an RGA will be issued for the return of the vacuum pump. A credit will be issue upon return and inspection by the YELLOW JACKET Warranty Department.
• The serial number, date-of-purchase by the contractor, and a copy of the original invoice must accompany all returns. 
• Vacuum pump oil must be drained from the machine for safety concerns.
• Chinese made vacuum pumps have a one year warranty from date of purchase.
• Warranty Exceptions
• If the machine has been altered
• If the machine has been damaged by misuse or abuse
• Physical damage is evident
• Used on lithium bromide or ammonia systems or shows signs of "leak-stop type" product
  

HASSLE-FREE OTC PRODUCTS

Hose Products

• YELLOW JACKET hose products are date-coded for safety. The warranty is one year from date-of-sale to the end user but not more than three years from the date code.
• All gaskets and valve openers are field replaceable and SealRight™ couplers can be rebuilt in the field.
• No RGA or call to the factory is required, but the product must be held for inspection by a YELLOW JACKET representative. A "Warranty Claim Form" must be filled out and signed by the YELLOW JACKET representative who has discretion to approve/disapprove the warranty claim.
• All returned product must be accompanied by the date-of-sale to the end user, a copy of the invoice, and the reason for return.
• A credit will be issued upon receipt of the "Warranty Claim Form" and return of the product to the factory. DO NOT return 3-paks when only one hose is defective.
• Warranty Exceptions
• Date code out-of-warranty
• Missing gaskets or valve openers
• Obvious abuse or misuse
• Hoses used in applications other than those specified in the YELLOW JACKET catalog or on the web site
  

Manifold/Replacement Gauges

• No RGA or a call to the factory is required for an OTC exchange but the product must be held for inspection by a YELLOW JACKET representative. A "Warranty Claim Form" must be filled out and signed by the YELLOW JACKET representative who has discretion to approve/disapprove the warranty claim.
• All returned product must be accompanied by the date-of-sale to the end user, a copy of the invoice and the reason for return.
• A credit will be issued upon receipt of the "Warranty Claim Form" and return of the product to the factory.
• All YELLOW JACKET manifold bars have a "Lifetime" warranty. The Contractor can return the manifold for repair with a $7.50 check payable to Ritchie Engineering to cover return freight. Pistons, feed screws and handles will be replaced. This does not cover the replacement of gauges.
• Warranty Exceptions –This warranty covers only the individual defective component
• Manifolds with hoses
• Manifolds with over-pressurized gauges
• Manifolds with obvious signs of abuse or misuse
• Manifolds that have been used on systems with a "leak-stop type" product
  

Tubing Tools

• All YELLOW JACKET Tubing Tools have a one year "Hassle-Free" OTC warranty policy.
• No RGA or a call to the factory is required for an OTC exchange, but the product must be held for inspection by a YELLOW JACKET representative. A "Warranty Claim Form" must be filled out, and signed by the YELLOW JACKET representative who has discretion to approve/disapprove the warranty claim.
• All returned product must be accompanied by the date-of-sale to the end user, a copy of the invoice, and the reason for return.
• A credit will be issued upon receipt of the form and return of the product to the factory.
• Warranty Exceptions
• Tools with obvious signs of abuse or misuse
• Tube cutters with broken wheels
  

"HASSLE-FREE" RETURN FOR REPAIR PRODUCTS

Electronic Products

All YELLOW JACKET electronic products have a one year "Hassle- Free" warranty (exception is the Refrigeration System Analyzer which is two years). All electronic products must be returned for repair and have serial numbers to designate the date of manufacture.

• An RGA must be obtained by calling Ritchie Engineering customer service at (800)769-8370. All returned product must be accompanied by the date-of-sale to the end user, a copy of the invoice, and the reason for return.
• Electronic products must be returned to the factory where they will be repaired and returned. If the product cannot be repaired, it is up to the factory to replace or issue a credit.
• Warranty Exceptions
• Date codes out-of-warranty
• Products that have been misused or abused
• Products returned with or mismatched batteries
• Leak detectors with contaminated sensors

OUT-OF-WARRANTY RETURNS/REPAIRS

All "Out-of-Warranty" products being returned for repair MUST have an RGA number. This can be obtained by calling Ritchie Engineering customer service at (800)769-8370. All returns must be prepaid. Upon receipt, an estimate will be given. If an answer is not received in 30 days, the product will be returned at the customer's expense.

WARRANTY POLICY

YELLOW JACKET® products from Ritchie Engineering Company, Inc. are guaranteed to be free from material and workmanship defects for a period of one year. This guarantee does not cover products that have been altered, abused, misused or improperly maintained. Any exceptions to the one year warranty policy are individually identified within this policy.

Note: Not all cataloged products are stocked and eligible for return. Please check with your YELLOW JACKET representative or the factory for more information.

All returns MUST have an RGA number and proof of purchase/copy of invoice. Please obtain an RGA number from Ritchie Engineering Customer Service by calling (800)769-8370. All returns must be prepaid.

HOSES - YELLOW JACKET hoses are covered by a one year warranty from the date of sale, but not longer than three years from the date of manufacture. All YELLOW JACKET hoses manufactured before 2006 are coded on the brass fitting with a letter combination that can be found in the price schedule and catalogs. Hoses manufactured after 2006 will show the date on the brass fitting. If you are not sure where to find the manufacture date code, please contact Ritchie Engineering Customer Service at (800)769-8370.

If the hose is found to be defective within the warranty period, a credit will be issued upon return. If one hose in a three pack fails, a credit will be issued for the defective hose only. Note: DO NOT return all of the hoses in a three pack for credit; return only the defective hose.

The following exceptions will not be covered under this warranty.

1. Hoses that have been altered, misused or improperly maintained
2. Hose with missing or damaged gaskets
3. Hoses with missing core depressors
   

Metal hoses and special length assemblies are not returnable.

MANIFOLDS - YELLOW JACKET "Series 41", TITAN™ and BRUTE™ II Test and Charging Manifold bars are warranted for life (manifold bar includes all items except gauges and hoses). This warranty does not cover the manifold gauges, which are covered by a one year warranty outlined in the "Manifold Gauge" section of this warranty policy. If at any time you experience a problem with the manifold bar, return the manifold bar with a check for $ 7.50 to cover postage and handling.

If the manifold fails within the first year of purchase we will repair, replace or credit at our discretion. Note: DO NOT return manifolds with hoses. Return only the defective manifold. Over-the-counter exchanges are not authorized.

The following exceptions will not be covered under this warranty.

1. Over-pressurized or broken gauges.
2. Manifolds that have been altered misused or improperly maintained.
   

Manifold Replacement Gauges – Yellow Jacket replacement gauges are covered by a one year warranty from the date of purchase.

The following exceptions will not be covered under this warranty.

1. Over-pressurized or broken gauges.
2. Gauges that have been altered misused or improperly maintained.
   

Recovery Products – YELLOW JACKET recovery products (UPC 949xx) are covered by a one year warranty for parts and labor and an extended two year compressor warranty if the warranty card is returned and on file. Recovery products (UPC 957xx) are covered by a one year warranty for parts and labor (UPC 9576x also includes a three year compressor warranty). The warranty also allows for a one year over-the-counter exchange, when applicable. To receive this over-the-counter exchange, call Ritchie Engineering Customer Service at (800)769-8370 and get the required authorization. Failure to get the required authorization could result in a denial of the over-the-counter exchange.

The following exceptions will not be covered under this warranty.

1. Recovery products that have been altered misused or improperly maintained.

Vacuum Pumps – Yellow Jacket U.S. manufactured vacuum pumps are covered by a two year parts and labor warranty. Foreign made vacuum pumps distributed by Ritchie Engineering will be either replaced or repaired at our option within one year of factory shipment or 18 months from manufactured date. Please drain oil before returning.

* Over-the-counter exchanges will not be authorized

The following exceptions will not be covered under this warranty:

1. Failure to use correct type of oil.
2. Vacuum pumps that have been altered, misused or improperly maintained.
3. The use of the pump on lithium bromide or ammonia systems.
   

Electronic Products – Yellow Jacket electronic products are warranted for a period of one year from the date of purchase. All electronic products must be returned to Ritchie Engineering. If the product is found to be defective, Ritchie Engineering will repair, replace or issue a credit at our discretion.

The following exceptions will not be covered under warranty:

1. Electronic products that have been altered, misused or improperly maintained.
2. AccuProbe™ and AccuProbe II leak detectors are covered by an 18 month warranty. This warranty does not cover the sensor.
   

Tubing Tools – Yellow Jacket tubing tools are covered by a one year warranty. This warranty does not include an over-the-counter exchange. All tubing tool products must be returned to Ritchie Engineering. If the product is found to be defective Ritchie Engineering will repair, replace or issue a credit at our discretion.

The following exceptions will not be covered under this warranty.

1. Tubing Tools that have been altered, misused or improperly maintained.
2. Tube cutters in working order with broken or worn out cutting wheels.
