Regional Sales Manager – Western Region

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the planning and implementation of sales strategies to meet company objectives, both short and long range, targeted toward existing and new markets.

  • Develops and implements strategic sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services
  • Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to preset standards and industry and economic trends
  • Manage independent sales agencies and representatives in designated region, to achieve prescribed goals and objectives
  • Maintain and grow sales with existing customers
  • Identify, qualify and evaluate prospective customers towards the goal of regional growth
  • Keeps informed of new products, services and other general information of interest to customers
  • Monitors and reports on competitor products, sales and marketing activities
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners
  • Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials and events
  • Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly
  • Represents company at trade shows and industry meetings to promote product
  • Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals
  • Coordinates liaison between sales department and other sales related units
  • Analyzes and controls expenditures of region to conform to budgetary requirements
  • Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion
  • Reviews and analyzes sales performances against programs; quotes and plans to determine effectiveness
  • Troubleshoots problems regarding products; answers questions from sales representatives and handles complaints
  • Monitor Industry changes and trends
  • Participate in Sales and Marketing activities and standards
  • Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Business Administration, Sales and Marketing, or related
  • Five (5) or more years of sales experience in manufacturing
  • Working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel
  • Demonstrated problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent formal presentation skills before both small and large groups
  • Experience managing large territories and diverse product offerings
  • Coaching/mentoring experience with less senior sales staff
  • A demonstrable capacity to keep abreast of new technology trends
